A neck lift restores the elegance and grace of the area under the chin and neck. Neck lift surgery can be performed on its own; however, it is often done in combination with a facelift to rewind the clock on aging. It is an ideal solution for addressing sagging, loose skin, prominent vertical neck bands, stubborn fat beneath the chin, and deep folds and wrinkles.

As you age, the skin on your neck may no longer feel firm and tight, but instead may start to sag or wrinkle. When this happens, your neck may appear fuller than normal, and might also lack in definition. A neck lift is a procedure in which excess skin is lifted, trimmed, and tightened in order to remove sagging jowls, wrinkles, or that “turkey wattle.” This provides your neck with smooth, uplifted, skin and more youthful contours than before.

In cases where a large neck is due to excess fat, Dr. English may perform liposuction instead. Neck liposuction involves making very tiny incisions or slits that allow a thin tube to pass through. This tube is used to suction away fat so that it is eliminated from the body forever.

You may be a good candidate for a neck lift if you are plagued with a double chin or have noticed the skin on your neck has lost its elasticity. During your consultation in his Little Rock office, Dr. Jim English will review your medical history, lifestyle choices, and desired results while also conducting a physical exam to determine your skin quality, elasticity, and thickness for optimal results. You may be a candidate for neck lift surgery if you:
-
are in good physical and mental health, with good elasticity of the skin;
-
are a non-smoker or committed to refraining from smoking;
-
have realistic expectations of the outcome of your neck lift surgery; and
